Collection Journal and Discover Japan

The Collection Journal in Forza Horizon 6 tracks Discover Japan, the exploration path with seven Stamps from Yellow to Gold. Stamps come from collecting cars, photographing murals, smashing mascots, finding landmarks, Stories, Street and Touge Races and the Raku-Raku delivery job, and the Gold Stamp makes you a Master Explorer.

The Collection Journal is Forza Horizon 6's record of everything you do outside the Horizon Festival, and Discover Japan is the progression path it tracks: seven Stamps, Yellow to Gold, earned by collecting and customizing cars, photographing murals, smashing mascots, finding landmarks, joining Mei's day tours, Street and Touge Races, and the Raku-Raku food delivery job. The Gold Stamp makes you a Master Explorer. Stamps unlock Player Houses, Barn Finds rumors and The Estate. Mei hands you the Journal at the start of the Campaign and Story, and it runs alongside the seven Festival Wristbands.

What is the Collection Journal?

Playground built the Journal on Japanese stamp collecting: before release Xbox Wire described it as a record of points of interest, where photographs of murals, landmarks and other spots are kept (Jan 22, 2026). In the game it tracks both Festival and Discover Japan progress, redeems rewards such as cars, credits and cosmetics, and keeps your photos, which you can replace with better ones later. Mei gives it to you outside the Festival, where it tracks Mascots, races, friends and more. It sits in the Pause menu beside EventLab and the Car Collection. Some limited Festival Playlist items also go into it: completing Drift Attack there unlocks a racesuit, helmet and the 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Forza Edition.

What counts toward Discover Japan?

Playground's starting guide says the map icons for Mascots, Street Races, Touge Battles, Car Meets and Time Attack Circuits all count, and the first Stamp comes once you have done enough of them. Its progression post adds collecting and customizing cars, photographing murals, finding landmarks and Mei's day tours. PC Gamer calls Stories, the yellow-badged activities, the biggest single source of Discover Japan progress (May 15, 2026).

  • Regional Mascots are smashable figures around each region; the achievements ask for 1 ("Smashscot") and 200 ("Gotta Smash 'em All"). See Collectibles.
  • Murals and landmarks are photographed into the Journal ("Pin It!" asks for 10 Landmarks). See Landmarks.
  • Street Races and Touge Battles are night races; see Street Races and Touge Battles.
  • Car Meets and Time Attack Circuits count by visiting and setting laps; see Car Meets and Drag Meets and Time Attack Circuits.
  • Horizon Stories and Day Trips are short chapters rated in Stars; see Horizon Stories.
  • Jobs such as Raku-Raku, below.

The Journal's Photography section blocked Master Explorer for a week after launch: Series 1 Hotfix 2 on May 27, 2026 let it be completed again (Known Issues and Fixes).

The Raku-Raku delivery job

Raku-Raku is a food delivery Job you pass on the first drive into Tokyo City with Mei; Playground says you can pick it up later for extra credits. Jobs have Promotions, and the achievement "The Boss" asks for the maximum Promotion in a Job; "Working 9 to 5" is for your first (achievements list). Before release the Developer Direct already listed "delivering tofu" among the ways to earn credits. The Fuji Unkai House's perk adds 10% Credits from Horizon Jobs, per KeenGamer (May 18, 2026). More on How to Make Money.

What do Stamps unlock?

Stamps unlock Player Houses, Barn Find Rumors and The Estate. After the first Stamp, Mei asks you to visit the Yashiki House, her grandparents' abandoned home; buying it unlocks The Estate. KeenGamer's house list (May 18, 2026) ties the other houses to Stamps from Green to Gold, the last being the Vision House in Ohtani (Player Houses). PC Gamer counts 15 Barn Finds, mostly two per rank, with the Mazda #55 787B among the Master Explorer pair (Barn Finds). Unlike the Gold Wristband, the Gold Stamp opens no single endgame area, as KeenGamer noted before launch (May 13, 2026).
