Skills, XP and Wheelspins

In Forza Horizon 6, driving Skills and events earn XP that raises your player level, Horizon Play has its own levels and badges, and Wheelspins and Super Wheelspins only start after you qualify for the Horizon Festival. Playground made spins rarer to earn and more rewarding than in Forza Horizon 5.

Forza Horizon 6 keeps the series' two leveling tracks, standard player leveling with prestige and Horizon Play's own levels, and its Wheelspins and Super Wheelspins start only after you qualify for the Horizon Festival with the Yellow Wristband. Playground rebalanced them "to be rarer to earn throughout playing the game and more rewarding when you do spin them." Wheelspins come from leveling up, Journal and Festival rewards, mail and the Tokyo City House's daily spin; Super Wheelspins from big milestones, the Festival Playlist and VIP Membership's weekly spin. Driving Skills earn Skill Points, and LINK Skills reward players who bank the same skill together.

Skills and Skill Points

Skills are the points you score for driving with style, in events and in free roam. Playground counts them toward the next Festival Wristband (campaign post), and they add to your XP. Skill Points exist in Forza Horizon 6, since Playground closed a way of farming them from Estates on Jul 13, 2026, but no Playground post read for this page says how they are spent. Playground has not described Forza Horizon 5's per-car skill trees (car mastery) as of Nov 3, 2026; gameranx's May 14, 2026 review, in the clip, shows Skill Points spent on a skill tree for each car, mostly XP bonuses.

Insider Gaming's May 14, 2026 guide found XP boards worth 1,000, 3,000 and 5,000 XP, which also give 10, 30 and 50 Wristband points. Bonus Boards count for the achievement "A Few Splinters Is Nothing!" (200 smashed).

LINK Skills reward players who bank the same skill at the same time, and you do not need to be in a Convoy, as Insider Gaming confirms. Each new LINK Skill gives 10 Wristband points by Insider Gaming's count, and the first gives the achievement "Four Swords." The Vision House's perk, Driving With Friends, adds 10% to Skill Score from LINK Skills, per KeenGamer (Player Houses).

XP and player level

Driving, events and Skills give XP toward your player level, and each level up pays a Wheelspin, per Insider Gaming. The clip is AR12Gaming's May 15, 2026 video, which counts one Wheelspin every three levels rather than one per level. Prestige returns from earlier games; Playground's progression post confirms it but gives no numbers. Closed exploits: AutoDrive left running while away from the controller farmed XP and credits until Jul 13, 2026, when Playground stopped it (Accessibility and AutoDrive).

Horizon Play levels and badges

Horizon Play, the online modes, has its own XP track. Playground's progression post sets a Badge every 10 levels up to Level 100 at launch, more Badges for completing set numbers of each mode and earning Skills, and Series Standing Leaderboards that reset each Festival Playlist Series. Each Horizon Play level up to Level 25 also adds Horizon Festival Points toward your next Wristband.

Date Change
May 19, 2026 Launch: 100 levels, a Badge every 10
Jun 15, 2026 Series 2 cut the XP for Levels 26 to 100; players at Level 32 and above jumped to 100
Oct 5, 2026 Series 6 added up to 200 more levels with 20 more Badges

The achievements are "Ready to Rumble" (10 levels) and "Maxed Out" (100 levels, 30 Gamerscore). Series 7 (Nov 2, 2026) fixed the 2019 Ginetta G40 Junior's overperformance, which Playground said hurt Horizon Play and Rivals. See Multiplayer.

Wheelspins and Super Wheelspins

Neither kind of spin appears until you join the Festival: the VIP FAQ notes that spins arrive only once the first Wristband unlocks the Message Center, though earlier ones can be claimed later.

Spin Where it comes from
Wheelspin Player level ups; Festival and Discover Japan rewards; the Tokyo City House (once a day); in-game mail
Super Wheelspin Big milestones; the Festival Playlist; VIP Membership (one a week)

Source: Insider Gaming: How to Get More Wheelspins in Forza Horizon 6, May 14, 2026; the VIP spin from the VIP FAQ, May 14, 2026.

The Tokyo City House costs 3,000,000 CR, or nothing with VIP (KeenGamer, May 18, 2026). Its perk is a daily Wheelspin. See VIP Membership and Welcome Pack.

Wheelspin-exclusive cars

Some cars come only from spins. Playground's car list marks each car's sources, and its series posts have sold some spin cars for a time: the Series 3 Aftermarket takeover offered six usually Wheelspin-only Italian cars such as the 1984 Ferrari 288 GTO, and in Series 6 a 1998 Mercedes-Benz AMG CLK GTR sat behind the 7-Eleven. See Car List and Aftermarket Cars.
