Accessibility and AutoDrive
Forza Horizon 6 adds three accessibility features to the series, a customizable High Contrast Mode, Car Proximity Radar and AutoDrive, and keeps the earlier ones, from full controller remapping to a screen reader and color-blind modes. American and British Sign Language interpreters for cinematics arrived on Aug 10, 2026.
Forza Horizon 6 brings three new accessibility features, a customizable High Contrast Mode in gameplay, Car Proximity Radar and AutoDrive, on top of the options the series already had: full controller remapping, screen reader narration, subtitles, color-blind modes and more. American Sign Language and British Sign Language interpreters for the cinematics were not ready at launch and arrived with the Series 4 update on Aug 10, 2026. AutoDrive lets the car drive itself to a waypoint, which Playground says is meant "as an accessibility feature, or for when your hands need a break from driving", not for farming. The Guardian's review credited the game with "an impressive array of accessibility options" (May 19, 2026).

New features
High Contrast Mode. Forza Horizon 6's High Contrast Mode works in gameplay and is customizable, a granular version, as Xbox Wire described it at the reveal (Jan 22, 2026).
Car Proximity Radar. The radar flags cars in your blind spots, which helps most with the cockpit, hood or bumper cameras, where you cannot see beside you. You choose its position on the HUD and can add audio cues (support page).
AutoDrive. Set a waypoint on the map, then start AutoDrive through ANNA, the in-game assistant, on the d-pad. The car drives itself to the waypoint.
How do you use AutoDrive?
- Open the map and set a waypoint.
- Call up ANNA on the d-pad and choose AutoDrive.
- The car drives itself to the waypoint.
That is the order on Playground's support page (Oct 28, 2026).
AutoDrive is not a way to earn while away. When players used it to farm, Playground rebalanced rewards in some modes on Jun 18, 2026, and the Series 3 update on Jul 13, 2026 closed XP and Credit farming with AutoDrive while AFK. Other money methods are on How to Make Money.
Returning features
Playground's support page, updated Oct 28, 2026, lists these as carried forward from earlier games:
- Full controller remapping on every platform, with up to five profiles, and keyboard remapping on PC
- Screen reader narration
- Subtitles with size, opacity and keyword highlighting
- Field of view on PC
- Color-blind UI modes for Deuteranopia, Protanopia and Tritanopia, and color filters
- Offline Game Speed and the Tourist Drivatar
- A skip option for Horizon Stories challenges
- Disabling moving backgrounds, notification duration, granular volume sliders, and support for several USB devices at once on PC
Eurogamer's review also noted a choice of standard or guaranteed story progression (May 14, 2026). Difficulty, assists and every accessibility setting can be changed at any time; see Drivatars and Difficulty.
American and British Sign Language
Sign language was promised before launch and came almost three months after it. The Series 4 update on Aug 10, 2026 added ASL and BSL interpreters in the cinematics, shown picture-in-picture: you can move the interpreter's window and choose its background color. The same update fixed three screen reader bugs, on the What's Next? screen, on Wheelspin prizes and after the ANNA tutorial. The Sep 7, 2026 update added a live preview to the environment color filters.
SpecialEffect and Steam's tags
Playground works with SpecialEffect, the UK charity that sets up adapted controllers for disabled players, for adapted devices. On Steam the game carries accessibility tags including Chat Text-to-speech, Color Alternatives, contrast controls, Custom Volume Controls, Adjustable Difficulty, Keyboard Only Option and Playable without Timed Input, as of Nov 3, 2026, with full controller support.
