Collectibles

Forza Horizon 6's collectibles are Regional Mascots to smash, Bonus Boards for XP, murals and landmarks to photograph, Treasure Chests, roads to drive, Treasure Cars and Barn Finds. Achievements ask for 200 mascots and 200 Bonus Boards; a $2.99 Treasure Map add-on reveals most locations.

Forza Horizon 6's collectibles are scattered across the Japan Map and feed the Discover Japan side of the Collection Journal: Regional Mascots to smash in every region, Bonus Boards that give XP, murals and Landmarks to photograph, Treasure Chests, roads to drive, and the hidden cars, Treasure Cars and Barn Finds. Achievements ask for 200 Regional Mascots and 200 Bonus Boards. Playground has not published the total of each collectible as of Nov 3, 2026. The paid Treasure Map add-on ($2.99 on Steam) marks the locations of Bonus Boards, Barn Finds, Regional Mascots, Treasure Chests and Treasure Cars, but not the seasonal ones. Each Series also adds temporary collectibles of its own.

Regional Mascots

Each area of Japan has its own series of collectible mascots, smashed by driving through them for a small reward. Some stand beside roads; others hide down paths you have not explored. The first earns "Smashscot" and 200 earn "Gotta Smash 'em All", and smashing mascots is one of the ways to fill the Discover Japan Stamps, which unlock houses and Barn Finds. Series 4, "Horizon Mascot Party," was built around them; see Series 4: Horizon Mascot Party.

Bonus Boards

Bonus Boards return from earlier Horizon games: smashing 200 earns "A Few Splinters Is Nothing!". XP boards also add a little Wristband progress: Insider Gaming measured 10, 30 and 50 Festival points for 1,000, 3,000 and 5,000 XP boards on May 14, 2026. One XP board hides behind Nachi Falls. Playground has not said whether fast travel boards return, and the sources read do not mention them. Leveling is on Skills, XP and Wheelspins.

Murals

Forza Horizon 6 has original murals painted across Japan, which you photograph for the Collection Journal; photographing murals is one of the Discover Japan activities. Playground introduced them on Apr 6, 2026 with "The Art of Driving," a documentary series on the Forza YouTube channel. The number of murals and their artists are not published in the sources read as of Nov 3, 2026. Journal photos can be replaced with better ones at any time. Until Series 1 Hotfix 2 on May 27, 2026, a bug in the Photography section could block the Master Explorer rank.

Landmarks and photography

Landmarks work the same way: drive up, discover, photograph. Ten earn "Pin It!". The full list Playground names, from Shibuya Crossing to Nachi Falls, is on Landmarks.

Treasure Chests and Treasure Hunts

Treasure Chests are hidden around the map and are among what the Treasure Map add-on reveals. Separately, the Festival Playlist runs a weekly Treasure Hunt, a chest found from a clue: in October 2026 the Takashiro chest held 100,000 CR, 5,000 XP and three Season Progress. See Updates and Series.

Roads and regions

Roads count too. The Region Overview has shown a "Roads Driven" percentage since Series 2 (Jun 15, 2026), and discovering all ten regions earns "Racking Up The Miles." Revealing the whole map earns "The Horizon Cartographer"; a Series 7 fix on Nov 2, 2026 let the map percentage finally reach 100%. See Regions.

Hidden cars

Three kinds of cars are found in the world. Treasure Cars come from Mei's photo clues, one per region, with a tenth, the 1970 Citroën 2CV, added on Oct 5, 2026. Barn Finds, 15 by PC Gamer's count, open as rumors with the Stamps. Aftermarket Cars are secondhand cars for sale at the roadside.

Seasonal collectibles

Each Series has brought Evolving World collectibles that are gone when it ends: the Tank Latte Cup in Ito (Series 3), Shimanoyama Heat (Series 4), the Drift Tire Mascot (Series 5), the Egg Salad Sandwich (Series 6), and in Series 7 15 Gashapon Machines at Daikoku in its second week (Nov 12 to 19, 2026), which earn the Halo Shield Recharge Car Horn. The Treasure Map does not show seasonal collectibles.

The Treasure Map add-on

The Forza Horizon 6 Treasure Map is a $2.99 add-on, out since May 14, 2026, that you switch on from the map screen. It reveals the locations of Bonus Boards, Barn Finds, Regional Mascots, Treasure Chests and Treasure Cars, in the main game and future expansions, but not Seasonal Collectables from the Festival Playlist. Some locations stay hidden until you unlock them in play. It is not included in any edition, Premium included. See Editions and Price.
