How the Festival Playlist works

The Festival Playlist opens once a player earns the first Wristband, which Playground says happens in "the first few hours of gameplay" (see Wristbands). From then on it is the game's weekly to-do list: Seasonal Championships solo and in co-op, Daily and Weekly Challenges, Photo Challenges, Seasonal Hide and Seek, collectible hunts, a Treasure Hunt chest each week and The Trial, all paying Playlist Points (PTS).

Each series lasts four weeks, and each week is one of Japan's seasons in turn: Summer, Autumn, Winter, then Spring (see Seasons and Weather). A series carries two overall reward cars and two seasonal cars a week, ten in all. Until Series 7 the overall cars cost 80 and 160 PTS and the seasonal ones 20 and 40. Series 7 cut those to 60 and 120, and 15 and 30, "based on community feedback", so that players without the online content can also earn the cars. The same update added a Garage and Autoshow filter that shows which cars meet the week's Playlist restrictions. The clip is Dec Games' May 18, 2026 guide, from before Series 7 cut the costs.

Playground keeps an archive of every series' events and rewards on forza.net, linked from the series posts since Series 4. A car missed in one series often comes back as a seasonal reward later: the 1974 Toyota Corolla SR5 has been offered in Series 1, 6 and 7.

Series History Rewards

Series History Rewards are exclusive cars unlocked by lifetime Playlist Points, which keep counting across series. The first, the 1972 Mazda Cosmo 110S Series II, unlocks at 500 lifetime PTS and arrived with Series 3, with the "Historic Effort" achievement. The second, the 1973 Lamborghini Espada 400 GT, unlocks at 1,100 lifetime PTS and was announced with Series 6. Playground has not named a third as of Nov 3, 2026.

Evolving World

Evolving World is Playground's name for temporary changes to the shared map that arrive with a series for every player at once: pop-up Car Meets, Time Attack Circuits, takeovers of the Aftermarket dealership and new collectibles. Examples so far are the Hokubu Car Meet in Series 2, the Edamame Time Attack Circuit in Series 4 and again in Series 7, the Italian and British takeovers of the Aftermarket Cars dealership by the Horizon Stadium in Series 3 and 5, and the 7-Eleven Car Meet near Mt. Fuji in Series 6. Some additions are permanent instead: Drift Attack (Series 5) and the two Tokyo race routes of Series 7.

The Car Pass adds four cars per series, one each Thursday: with Series 7 it reaches 28 of its 30 cars, and Forza Support says the last arrives by Dec 8, 2026. Each series page lists its four.

Fixes come with each title update and in hotfixes between them. The biggest so far: Drivatar difficulty in Series 2, the Eliminator credits exploit and the lost-save problem in June, Auto Drive farming in Series 3, and the PR Stunt leaderboard wipe of Series 7. Known Issues and Fixes follows them by date.
