The Eliminator
The Eliminator is Forza Horizon 6's open-world battle royale, a Horizon Play mode where the goal is to be the last driver standing. Playground switched it off in June 2026 over a Credits exploit and brought it back on Jun 18, 2026, giving every player a free McLaren.
The Eliminator is Forza Horizon 6's open-world battle royale mode, one of the Horizon Play modes in Multiplayer, and the aim is to be the last driver standing. It has had a rough run: in June 2026 Playground switched it off to close an exploit that paid out unintended Credits, and when it came back on Jun 18, 2026 every player got a 2021 McLaren Sabre "as a gesture of good will". Playground has not published the player count or a full rule set for the Forza Horizon 6 version in the posts read for this page, as of Nov 3, 2026, so this page sticks to what it has said.

Why was The Eliminator disabled?
Players found a way to earn Credits from The Eliminator that Playground had not intended, and Playground took the mode offline while it fixed it. Series 2 Hotfix 1, Steam version 379.939 on Jun 18, 2026, closed the Credits exploit and restored The Eliminator. The same hotfix rebalanced rewards that AutoDrive could farm (Accessibility and AutoDrive). Every fix since launch is on Known Issues and Fixes.
The free McLaren
To make up for the downtime, Playground gave every player a 2021 McLaren Sabre. Playground has delivered gifted cars through the Message Center before, as with the 1987 Nissan Be-1 in Series 1, so look there if the car is missing. Other free cars are on Free Cars and Loyalty Rewards.
Changes since
The Series 3 update on Jul 13, 2026 closed a way of dodging challenges in The Eliminator, and its patch notes swapped the 2021 Alumicraft #122 Class 1 Buggy for the 1993 Toyota #1 T100 Baja Truck in the mode. The clip is Hornet's May 19, 2026 tutorial, which warned that the level 5 Alumicraft buggy was bugged, before the Jul 13 swap.
Tips
Playground has published no strategy guide for The Eliminator. Two things are sourced. Your Horizon Play levels rise with every mode, The Eliminator included, and each level up to 25 adds Horizon Festival Points toward your next Wristband. And the mode shares the Shared World's map, so knowing the roads from Japan Map helps. The clip is Hornet's May 19, 2026 tutorial on how the Japan map plays in The Eliminator.
