Series 1, Welcome to Japan, was the first Forza Horizon 6 Festival Playlist, from May 21 to Jun 18, 2026. Its overall rewards were the 2008 Mazda Furai and the 2010 Nissan 370Z, and every one of its ten reward cars was Japanese.
Series 1, Welcome to Japan, was the first Festival Playlist of Forza Horizon 6, running from May 21 to Jun 18, 2026, with the 2008 Mazda Furai and the 2010 Nissan 370Z as its two overall rewards. Every one of its ten reward cars came from a Japanese maker (Mazda, Nissan, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Honda and Subaru). It was the launch series, so it had no title update of its own: the game shipped on May 19, 2026, and two hotfixes followed on May 18 and May 27. It has ended; the current series is Series 7: City Life.

Reward cars
The Furai, Mazda's 2008 concept racer, led the series. Playground's launch-week post of May 15 priced it at 80 Playlist Points and the seasonal cars at 20 and 40. Playground's Series 1 page on forza.net, read on Nov 3, 2026, now shows 60 and 120, and 15 and 30, which are the lower costs Series 7 brought in; the Steam post gives the costs as they were at launch.
| Week | Dates | Seasonal rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Summer | May 21 to 28 | 1999 Toyota Altezza RS200 Z EDITION, 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR |
| Autumn | May 28 to Jun 4 | 1997 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec, 1991 Honda CR-X SiR |
| Winter | Jun 4 to 11 | 2019 Subaru STI S209, 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser Arctic Trucks AT37 |
| Spring | Jun 11 to 18 | 1996 Toyota Starlet Glanza V, 1974 Toyota Corolla SR5 |

Several of these came back later as seasonal rewards for players who missed them: the 370Z, the CR-X SiR and the Corolla SR5 in Series 6: Horizon Meets, the Starlet Glanza V and the Corolla again in Series 7.
Players who completed each type of Series 1 Playlist activity earned the Cherry Blossom Badge. The Trial, the 6v6 event for Gold Wristband holders, was left out of Series 1 on purpose, Playground said, "to avoid placing any pressure on players to rush"; it returned in Series 2.
The Nissan Be-1 gift
A bug let players finish the Autumn week's "Delivery Job" during Summer without unlocking its reward, the 1987 Nissan Be-1. Playground's fix was to give the Be-1 to everyone who played from May 28 through Jun 18, through the in-game Message Center.

Hotfixes and fixes
Series 1 Hotfix 1, version 360.259, a 1.8 GB download on May 18, 2026, improved Profile Loading errors at start-up, stopped invites from the Xbox app closing the game, and fixed Steam Controller crashes.
On May 22 Playground listed its first priorities: Drivatar AI that was "sometimes" too fast at high difficulty, PC frame rates on AMD graphics cards, PC audio crackling, and PC crashes and Invalid Loading errors. The AI change came in Series 2 (see Drivatars and Difficulty). The clip is Hardware Unboxed's May 15, 2026 benchmark, which found AMD's Radeon RX 9070 XT behind on average frame rate and suspected AMD's driver.
Series 1 Hotfix 2, version 364.933 on May 27, 2026, made the Photography section of Discover Japan completable again (it had blocked the Master Explorer stamp; see Collection Journal and Discover Japan) and changed the "Low" and "Very Low" PC audio settings to cut crackling. Other launch problems are on Known Issues and Fixes.
