Seasons and Weather
Forza Horizon 6's seasons change every week, Thursday at 2:30 PM UTC, in the order Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring, one four-week cycle per Series. Each season changes the landscape, crops, weather and sound; snow tires allow snow driving all year in the Alpine region.
Seasons in Forza Horizon 6 change every week, on Thursday at 2:30 PM UTC, in the order Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring, so each four-week Festival Playlist Series runs one full year. As of Nov 3, 2026, Series 7 "City Life" has Summer from Nov 5, Autumn from Nov 12, Winter from Nov 19 and Spring from Nov 26 to Dec 3, 2026. Playground says Japan's seasons vary more dramatically than Mexico's, in landscapes, crops, foliage, weather and sound. Spring brings the sakura, cherry blossom on the trees and petals on the road. Every event can also be replayed in any season, weather and time of day with the Race Customizer.

What each season changes
Art Director Don Arceta said at the reveal that seasonal changes have "a dramatic impact on the landscape and playable world", naming sweltering summers, snowy winters and the Sakura season. Playground's features post adds that landscapes, crops, foliage, weather and soundscapes all change, and the sound team made field recordings in Japan across all four seasons. Some races change shape with the season: the Shirakawa Circuit runs past thatched farmhouses that carry heavy snow in winter. Playground has not published a full list of which events change in which season, as of Nov 3, 2026.
Winter and snow tires
Winter is the snowy season, and IGN notes that in frosty weather cars crust over with ice and exhaust vapor rises. Outside winter, with snow tires fitted, you can drive on snow in Japan's Alpine region all year. Tires and other parts are on Upgrades and Tuning. The snow-walled Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is on Mount Fuji and Touge Roads.
Spring and sakura
Spring is the cherry blossom season, which Playground names as one of the seasons that define Japan. The team studied how fallen cherry blossoms react to passing cars on its research trips. At Hirosaki Castle, ringed by sakura, a cherry tree is one of the only trees you cannot smash, on the advice of cultural consultant Kyoko Yamashita. See Landmarks.
Weather and time of day
Weather follows the season, and the game has a day and night cycle. Some events are tied to the dark: Touge Battles and Street Races run at night. Playground has not published how often it rains or snows within a season, as of Nov 3, 2026.
Choosing the season with the Race Customizer
Once you have finished an event once, its Race Customizer lets you set the season, weather, time of day and time progression, along with up to 11 Drivatars, laps, Rewind, camera lock and traffic. In a Convoy, the leader's settings apply to everyone. This changes the event, not the open world, which keeps the week's season.
Did reviewers see every season?
No. Review copies came with the seasonal playlist off, and PC Gamer saw only spring and summer before its May 14, 2026 review. Dexerto found Japan varied enough that seasons are no longer needed for variety.
