Forza Horizon 6 has 167 cars that Playground Games' car list gives the country Japan, as of Nov 3, 2026: Nissan 42, Toyota 38, Honda 30, Mazda 18, Subaru 18, Mitsubishi 14, Datsun 4, and one each from Autozam, Eunos and GR. That is a quarter of the 667 on the list, second only to the USA's 173, which suits a game set in Japan. The cover car, the 2025 GR GT Prototype, is one of them. Lexus and Acura cars are on the list too but under the country USA, as Playground writes it, so they are not counted here; they are on the full Car List.

Japanese car culture in Forza Horizon 6

2:21 Playground built the game's car culture around Japan's: its cultural consultant Kyoko Yamashita summed it up for Xbox Wire as "kei cars and vans with cult followings, precision motorsport, drifting's roots". The first three cars Mei offers at the start are a 1989 Nissan Silvia K's, a 1994 Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205 and a 1970 GMC Jimmy, two of them Japanese, and the first Wristband adds a 2022 Toyota GR86 and a 2001 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR TM Edition. Series 1, Welcome to Japan, gave only Japanese reward cars, from the 2008 Mazda Furai to the 1997 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec.

Kei cars and motorcycle engine swaps

Kei cars, Japan's smallest road-legal class, are a feature of their own: Playground says kei cars can take motorcycle engine swaps. The list does not label kei cars as such; the ones on it include the 1993 Autozam AZ-1, the 1991 Honda Beat, the 1994 Honda Acty, the 2016 Honda S660 Alpha (written "S2260 Alpha" on the list), the 1994 Subaru Vivio RX-R and the Time Attack Car Pack's 1990 Mitsubishi Minicab. Most sit in Playground's "Eclectic Domestics" car type with the Nissan Be-1, PAO, S-Cargo and Figaro. Some kei cars have extreme builds: the 1994 Subaru Vivio RX-R Forza Edition, built for time attack, is rated S2 900. Playground has not published which kei cars take which motorcycle engines.

The famous JDM cars

The well-known Japanese performance cars are nearly all here, most in the Autoshow:

• Nissan Skyline and GT-R: from the 1971 Skyline 2000GT-R (a Barn Find) through the 1992 Skyline GT-R, 1997 V-Spec, 2000 V Spec II and the R35 GT-R from 2012 to 2024 Nismo; the 2012 GT-R Black Edition (R35) Forza Edition topped Red Bull's fastest cars list.
• Toyota Supra: the 1992 Supra 2.0 GT, the 1998 Supra RZ and the 2020 GR Supra, plus the Time Attack Car Pack's J&J Motorsport Supra WTAC.
• Mazda RX-7 and rotaries: the 1985 RX-7 GSL-SE (a Treasure Car), 1990 Savanna RX-7, 1992 RX-7 Type R, the 2011 RX-8 R3 and the 1991 #55 Mazda 787B Le Mans car.
• Honda NSX-R, Civic Type R and S2000: two NSX-Rs and an NSX-R GT, seven Civic Type Rs from 1997 to 2023.
• Drift icons: the Silvia K's of 1989, 1994 and 1998, the 2002 Silvia Spec-R and the 1985 Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex, with a Forza Edition built for the track.
• Rally cars: Lancer Evolutions III, VI, VIII, IX and X, the 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B-STi Version and Subaru's Impreza WRX STI and WRX STI from 2004 to 2015.
