Forza Horizon 6 on PC needs at least an Intel Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 1600, a GeForce GTX 1650 or Radeon RX 6500 XT, 16GB of RAM and an SSD for 1080p at 60fps on Low. It takes 167 GB on Steam as of Nov 3, 2026, and supports DLSS 4, FSR 4 and XeSS.

Forza Horizon 6 on PC needs at least an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600, a GeForce GTX 1650, Radeon RX 6500 XT or Intel Arc A380, 16GB of RAM and an SSD, which Playground rates for the Low preset at 1080p and 60fps. Its recommended tier, a Core i5-12400F or Ryzen 5 5600X with an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT, targets 1440p on High. Two higher tiers cover 4K, with and without ray tracing. The game takes 167 GB on Steam as of Nov 3, 2026, runs on Windows 10 or 11 and the Steam Deck, and needs a Microsoft account and a persistent internet connection.

The Steam store page lists only the Minimum and Recommended tiers, with the same parts, plus DirectX 12, a broadband connection, 167 GB of space and "SSD Required". A hard drive is not supported at any tier.

Which graphics cards will not run it?

Playground says NVIDIA's Pascal cards and older, such as the GTX 1070 and GTX 1080, are below the minimum and "not guaranteed to work", and AMD's Polaris and Vega cards and older, the Radeon 400 and 500 series, "will not work". The game checks the PC when it starts and stops with an error code if it falls short:

DLSS, FSR, XeSS and ray tracing

1:55 At launch the PC version supported NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation on RTX 50 cards, DLSS Frame Generation on RTX 40 and up, DLSS Super Resolution, DLAA and Reflex; AMD FSR 4 or FSR 3; and Intel XeSS 2.1. Ray tracing on PC covers ray-traced reflections, on cars and the environment, and ray-traced global illumination. The Sep 7, 2026 update fixed ray tracing not working on Intel graphics cards. PC features

0:15 The PC version offers 4K HDR, uncapped frame rates, ultrawide support, graphics settings that change without a restart and show a live preview, real-time readouts of video and system memory use, and a benchmark mode. Every wheel that works with Forza Horizon 5 works with Forza Horizon 6. Field of view, full keyboard remapping and other options are on Accessibility and AutoDrive.

The Steam figure grew from the launch download after seven series updates. On Steam the game must be installed in a library folder whose path is 59 characters or fewer; a deeper folder causes installation problems.

Gaming Services and the Microsoft account

Every PC copy, Steam included, needs Microsoft's Gaming Services app at version 37.114.10001.0 or later. The Steam version also needs a Microsoft account linked to Steam and a persistent internet connection. The account carries cross-save between Steam, Xbox and PS5 (see Game Pass, Cross-Play and Cross-Save).

Linux is supported only as SteamOS on the Steam Deck, where the game is Verified (see Steam Deck and Handhelds). Mods are not allowed: changing game files breaks the Forza Community Guidelines.
