Game Pass, Cross-Play and Cross-Save
Forza Horizon 6 is on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, which include the Standard Edition. It has cross-play and cross-save across Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox app, Steam and, from Jan 26, 2027, PS5, through one Microsoft account; Steam and PS5 copies are separate purchases.
Yes, Forza Horizon 6 is on Game Pass: Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass include the Standard Edition at no extra cost, since launch day, May 19, 2026, and playing on an Xbox console needs Ultimate. It has cross-play and cross-save across every version, Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox app on PC, Steam and the Steam Deck, Windows handhelds and, from Jan 26, 2027, PS5, which makes it the first Forza Horizon with cross-save across all of them. Progress travels with your Microsoft account, but the game itself does not: a Steam copy and a PS5 copy are separate purchases from an Xbox or Microsoft Store copy.

Which Game Pass tiers include Forza Horizon 6?
Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Xbox Wire's launch-day Game Pass post lists only those two, for cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld and PC. An Xbox Wire store blurb from January also mentioned plain "Xbox Game Pass", but the FAQ and the launch post name only Ultimate and PC Game Pass, so the lower console tiers do not include it as of Nov 3, 2026. Online multiplayer on Xbox consoles needs a Game Pass subscription that includes online play; Ultimate does.
Game Pass gives the Standard Edition only. Members who want VIP, the Car Pass, the car packs and both expansions buy the $59.99 Premium Upgrade, which adds all of Premium's content without the game; at launch it also gave Game Pass players early access from May 15, 2026. What it contains is on Editions and Price.
Xbox Play Anywhere and Steam
A digital copy bought on Xbox or the Microsoft Store plays on both Xbox Series X|S and PC with the same save and DLC, including Windows 11 handhelds such as the Xbox ROG Ally and Ally X. Game Pass works the same way on whichever device the membership covers.
The Steam version is a separate product: owning the Microsoft Store version does not give it, and add-ons bought on one store do not carry to the other. What carries over is the save, through cross-save. The Steam copy still needs a Microsoft account, which is how it saves to the same cloud as Xbox (see PC Requirements).
How does cross-save work?
Cross-save keeps one save in the cloud under your Microsoft account. Sign in with the same account on Xbox, the Xbox app, Steam or the Steam Deck, and the game loads the same progress, cars and credits. On PS5, from Jan 26, 2027, you link a Microsoft account, which is required and permanent for that title, and the save follows the same way. Paid content does not follow: DLC is bought per platform, and on PS5 the game itself is a standalone purchase.
The cloud save prompt
When you move back to an Xbox console after playing on PC, the game can ask whether to load the console save or the cloud save. Playground's advice is to pick the Cloud save, which holds the newer progress, and it planned a fix to make that the default. Lost progress was a real problem in June 2026: Xbox shipped fixes from Jun 12, a conflict dialog from Jul 2 that recovers the latest cloud save, and from Aug 5 a way to restore earlier cloud saves on Xbox consoles. The steps are on Known Issues and Fixes.
Cross-play
Every version plays together. Players on Xbox, the Xbox app and Steam share the same world, and PS5 players join them from Jan 26, 2027, with shared leaderboards and one Festival Playlist. All player creations are cross-platform from day one on PS5: EventLab races, Prefabs, Garages, Estates, Liveries and Tuning Setups. Online play on PS5 needs PlayStation Plus. The online modes are on Multiplayer, and creation tools on EventLab and Horizon CoLab.
